Profile & Security

Your profile lives under Account → My Profile. Everything here is personal to you — if you share an account with colleagues, each of you has your own.

Personal information

  • Name — how you appear in contact lists and comments.
  • Email address — also your sign-in address. Changing it changes how you sign in.
  • Avatar — an image with a built-in editor and circular crop.

Timezone

Under Localisation, set your Timezone. New accounts default to UTC.

This is worth setting straight away. It affects:

WARNING

Maintenance periods are entered in your timezone. If yours is still UTC and you are not, a window scheduled for "22:00" will not be the 22:00 you meant.

Status pages have their own separate timezone, set per page — see Appearance & Text.

Password

Change your password under My Profile. You need your current password to set a new one.

If you signed up with Google or GitHub you may not have a password at all. Use the password reset flow from the sign-in page to set one.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication is optional and strongly recommended. It is set up under My Profile.

  1. Start the setup and scan the QR code with an authenticator app — 1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator, or any TOTP app.
  2. Enter the six-digit code to confirm.
  3. Save your recovery codes somewhere safe.

WARNING

Recovery codes are how you get back in if you lose your phone. Store them in a password manager, not on the phone that holds the authenticator.

Social sign-in

You can sign in with Google or GitHub instead of a password. The buttons appear on the sign-in and registration pages.

The account is matched by email address, so signing in with Google using the same address as an existing account signs you into that account.

Notification settings

Also under My Profile — every notification channel and your uptime report preferences. These are covered on their own pages:

Email verification

New accounts must verify their email address. Until you do, you cannot receive uptime reports.

Didn't get the email? Check spam, then request another from the prompt shown after signing in.

Account vs profile

Two different things, easily confused:

WhereWhat it covers
My ProfileAccount → My ProfileYou — your name, password, timezone, notification channels
Manage accountTenant menuThe account — its name and avatar, shared by everyone in it

See Account for the account-level settings.

Deleting your account

There is no self-service account deletion. Open a support ticket and it will be handled for you.

Monitoring done right.
